Choirs
Our choir program offers all students from Prep to Year 6 the opportunity to develop their vocal skills, build confidence, and share their love of music with the school community.
Junior Choir
- Open to students in Prep and Year 1
- Rehearsals: Monday 8am - 8:30am in the Music room.
Intermediate Choir
- Open to students in Years 2 and 3.
- Rehearsals: Tuesday 8am - 8:30am in the Music room.
Senior Choir
- Open to students in Years 4, 5 and 6.
- Rehearsals: Friday 8am - 8:30am in the Music room.
Performance Opportunities
Throughout the year, choir members showcase their talents at school assemblies and compete in the Toowoomba Eisteddfod and other local events.
Our choirs provide a supportive and inclusive environment where students can discover their voices, develop music skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music.
Instrumental Music Program
Our Instrumental Music Program provides an enriching extra-curricular opportunity for upper school students to develop their musical talents under the guidance of specialist instrumental music teachers.
- String Program: Open to students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, featuring violin, viola, cello and double bass.
- Multi Program: Available for students in Years 4, 5 and 6, with instruction in woodwind, brass and percussion instruments.
Lessons
Small group lessons are scheduled during the school day, allowing for individualised attention and skill development.
Performance Opportunities
All students in the Instrumental Music Program join an ensemble, performing regularly at school assemblies and representing the school in competitions such as the Toowoomba Eisteddfod, the state-wide Fanfare, and other local events throughout the year.
Our current ensembles include:
- Blowflies Band:1st and 2nd year woodwind, brass and percussion students. Rehearsals: Tuesdays 8am-8:40am on the hall stage.
- Highflyers Concert Band: 2nd and 3rd year woodwind, brass and percussion students. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 8am-8:40am on the hall stage.
- Jazz Ensemble: Invited woodwind, brass and percussion students. Rehearsals: Mondays 8am-8:40am in the Instrumental Music room.
- Peewees String Ensemble: 1st year string students. Rehearsals: Thursdays 1:20pm-1:50pm in the Instrumental Music room.
- Eaglets String Ensemble: Selected string students. Rehearsals: Thursdays 8am-8:40am in the Instrumental Music room.
Our Instrumental Music Program encourages teamwork, discipline and a love of music, helping students grow both musically and personally.
School Musical
Every two years, students in Years 4, 5 and 6 are invited to audition for roles in our school musical production. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop confidence, teamwork and performance skills.
- Rehearsals: 3:15pm - 4:30pm in the hall.
- Students practise throughout Terms 1, 2 and 3
- The musical culminates in three performances held in September, showcasing the students' hard work and talent to the school community.
