During Terms 2 and 4, interested Years 4-6 students gather weekly to enjoy the Harry Potter novels by author JK Rowling.
Our time is spent reading excerpts from chapters, listening to audio recordings, viewing the website 'The Wizarding World' and then answering a quiz of knowledge in order to win the Wizard's Cup. We also express our creative magic by drawing fantastic creatures, the Sorting Hat and different places like the Mirror of Erised and the Hogwarts Express. We make a Marauder's Map and put together a jigsaw of the Castle. Each member makes their own wand!
We discuss our of love of the stories, discover how props and sets are made for the films, match characters to their traits and dig deep into the life lessons that Harry and his friends have to teach us.
