At Highfields, we strive for excellence. Our pedagogical philosophy is based on four elements:
Child: our students learn best when we all know them and respond to their individual needs and interests.
Community: our students learn best when we all work together.
Connectedness: our students learn best when we all care for each other.
Craft: our students learn best when we all provide effective, purposeful and well-planned instructional programs.
All children have a right to an education
At Highfields State School, to cater for our students, teachers maintain a
child-centred focus on their work. This requires that programs be
differentiated or targeted to meet the needs of individuals, based on knowledge
of the students, their prior learning and attributes. We have a range of
support teachers and additional staff who work with classroom teacher to
provide intervention, support or enrichment as needed. For further information on support available, see Support and Resources.
