P&C

The Highfields State School Parents and Citizens Association is responsible for a number of activities including running the tuckshop, uniform shop, school fundraising, school banking, book club, Helping Hearts and a number of school committees.

How can you help?

Objective

The Highfields State School Parents & Citizens Association aims to promote the interests, and facilitate the development and further improvement of the school.

Membership

P&C membership is free and renewable annually. The membership form asks you to indicate how you’d like to be involved. Please check it out – even a few hours of your time each term will help to lighten the load on our volunteers and executive.

While all are welcome at meetings, member attendance is not expected but if you’d like to come along and find out what happens, you are more than welcome to attend for half an hour or so. Meetings include a school update from the Principal as well as general P&C business, and are held at 7.00 pm on the second Monday of every month. See the school newsletter and school signage for dates.  If you can’t attend meetings, you are welcome to email the P&C and have your issues discussed or comments heard by proxy.

P&C membership gives you the right to vote at meetings, and puts you on the email list to receive Minutes and event updates.

Your help is appreciated not expected.

Meetings

Meetings of the Association are generally held on the second Monday of each month in the resource centre (school library). All parents and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

 School banking

School banking is conducted every Tuesday during the school year. A school banking committee representative collects students' deposits from classrooms for processing. A commission from every deposit is paid to the school. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like a school banking application.

Book club

This committee coordinates the scholastic book club and assists with the selection of reading resources in consultation with the resource management committee. Catalogues are distributed regularly and orders should be returned to the office by the due date on the back of the brochure. The books will then be delivered to your child's classroom when they are received from scholastic.
