Year 6 Camp

Year 6 Camp Brings Out Students' "Inner Awesomeness"

In week two of this term, the Year Six classes went to Camp Maranatha situated in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. It was a great experience. It definitely built up our confidence, team work and challenged us to try new activities that looked a little bit scary. The husky teams worked well to lift their team mates on the Possum Pull. Leap of Faith looked quite daunting, but many of us conquered our fears and had a go. Mrs White’s group won the challenge with 18 of her group successfully hitting the floating ball.

The night activities were terrific. On the first night, with only A Minute to Win It, we competed against the clock, and each other. The tasks were quite different and there were a lot of hilarious moments, great fun! On the second night, Team Brazil won the Amazing Race – just too many road blocks for some countries. Each team danced creatively to the bongo drums but the team skiing was a little less successful, although the teachers managed it easily!

We found our "inner awesome" and it was great!
