Year 6 Camp Maranatha

In week two of this term, the Year Six classes went on a bus trip for three hours to Camp Maranatha in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. It was a great experience. It definitely built up our confidence, team work and challenged us to try new activities that looked a little bit scary. Everyone’s favourite activities were Possum Pull and Midropes. Abseiling and the Leap of Faith had most legs shaking, but many of us conquered our fears and had a go! We discovered our rope tying skills let us down on the raft building but the fresh water creek was so clear and cool that we enjoyed just swimming along beside the floating remnants of our rafts.

The night activities were terrific, with Gubbi Gubbi speaking with us on the first night, and Team Canada winning the Amazing Race on the second night – just too many road blocks for some countries!

Great food, Great experiences, Great memories, Great Camp!
