Year 5s taste Japanese food

Year 5s enjoy trying Japanese food

As a final activity in this term's Japanese unit on food, Year 5 students tried a variety of Japanese food and snacks in class last week. Nearly all students thought the green tea chocolate on a pretzel (Pocky) was oishii (delicious), while the miso soup was labelled mazui (yuk) by many!

Other foods enjoyed were soba noodles, Japanese crackers, edamame (soybeans), green tea, wasabi peas, sushi and nori (seaweed). Many students were very surprised to find multiple foods that they liked. It was fantastic to see students move out of their comfort zone a little and try something new.
