Year 4 "Ride" Together

20 days ago we ‘left’ Highfields and embarked on our ‘ride’ to Canberra! A distance of 1110.8km.

Together we covered 1005.79km. With the help of families returning their ‘Family Ride Time Ticket’ we were able to make our goal! We actually had enough kilometres to also reach Mt Kosciusko and back to Canberra!

Thank you for your help families!

So on Friday 18th May, Year 4 celebrated reaching their goal TOGETHER. In the Smartspace we ‘visited’ Parliament House and proudly sang the National Anthem, viewed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Australian War Memorial and showed our respect in a minute’s silence, enjoyed a girls v boys snowball throw off, danced around the Embassies and practiced our swimming, gymnastics and basketball skills at the Australian Institute of Sport. After our virtual visit to Canberra, each child was presented with a souvenir book mark and a gold coin from the Royal Australian Mint (a chocolate coin!) as a reminder of what can be accomplished when working as a team.

“It’s a great achievement because we all worked together as a team to accomplish our goal” (4D)

“It felt like we were in Canberra!” (4C)
