Pizzas on the Menu at the Highfields State School

You may be wondering about the delicious smells wafting across the school recently and thought that there must be a Pizza take-away nearby.  Thanks to the local Cows Create Careers, Highfields State School now has a new pizza oven.

The oven is the brainchild of teacher Tracey Brennan and together with the assistance of Paul Blinco and last year's Year 5A students, the oven was constructed with traditional clay bricks - this took one day of determined and hard-working students. Thank you, also, to Shane Simmons who provided the concrete block base.

Mr Blinco said the oven would be used not only to cook pizzas but to also act as a teaching tool.

Recently, current students from Year 5A, together with Mr Blinco and Miss Brennan's assistance, prepared and cooked a variety of delicious pizzas.
