Highfields’s biggest morning tea

The month of May marks the 21st anniversary of Australia’s biggest morning tea.

In honour of all children, families and friends within our school community who have/had their lives affected by cancer, Highfields State School hosted a big morning tea will all 860 students and staff gathering together under beautiful blue skies for a picnic on the top oval.

Students brought picnic rug to sit on with their friends as they enjoyed their special morning tea treats. It was wonderful to see so many parents and friends join in also.

Our student council collected over $1 200 in donations from students, teachers and parents.

This is a cause close to many people’s hearts and by gathering together Highfields State School shows its solidarity and strong support for one another and our community.
