Cross Country and Fun Run

Program of Events
(Times provided are approximate times and should be used as
a guide only)
8:50 – 9:00am – All cross country competitors to the
oval for warm-up/stretches with Ms Ivory.
8:55am – Prep to year six classes move to spectating
areas .Prep to start of Fun Run, year 1-3 eastern side of oval, 4-6 western
side of oval)
9:15am – 11/12 year old boys/girls cross country –
3km course starting / finishing on the oval
9:17am - Prep
Girls Fun Run
9:30am - Prep
Boys Fun Run
9:35am - 10 year
old boys/girls cross country – 2km course starting / finishing on the oval
9:40am – Year One Girls Fun Runs - Lap of the oval
and outer oval area
9:50am - Year One
Boys Fun Runs - Lap of the oval and outer oval area
10:00am – 9 year old boys/girls cross country – 2km
course starting / finishing on the oval
10:05am – Year Two Girls Fun Runs – Lap of the oval
plus an outer lap
10:10am - Year
Two Boys Fun Runs – Lap of the oval plus an outer lap
10:20am – Year Three Girls Fun Run – Lap of oval and
an outer lap of Eastern end of school grounds
10:25am - Year
Three Boys Fun Run – Lap of oval and an outer lap of Eastern end of school
10:40am – Presentation of medallions to cross country
winners and champion house trophy
**Years one to three move back to class.
10:45am – Year 4 – 6 Fun Run
11:05 am (approx.) - program concludes, children
collect hats etc and go to lunch.
All fun run and cross country courses will be on display on
the front doors of the smARTSpace .
Year 1-3 students have been invited to practise their fun
run courses at second lunchtimes under teacher supervision.(Weeks 9/10)
Participants in the fun runs are not required to run the whole
distance. Walking, jogging, skipping are encouraged should children feel the
need to rest or slow down at any time.
The cross country and 4 – 6 fun run courses take children
out of the school grounds where children will be supervised by staff every 150
– 200m (approximately). Students are encouraged to have a ‘sports free dress
day’ wearing their sports house colours, favourite sports clothes/uniform or
dress as their favourite sportsman or woman, as long as clothing and shoes are
appropriate and sun safe.
If you do not wish
your child to leave the school grounds, please let me know in writing by Tuesday
18 April. Spectators are encouraged to
attend and cheer children on from the shaded area on the north – western and
western side of the oval.
