Choir News

The Senior Choir had a fantastic day at the high school working with teachers Ms Fletcher and Ms Abawi and the talented high school students. The day seemed to fly by as we moved from rehearsal to morning tea, back to rehearsal then lunch and finishing with a short concert.

Our students were terrific ambassadors for our school and conducted themselves well in this new environment. The combined songs were well received by the audience of parents and students. We were lucky to have both principals attend the concert!

We hope this will be the beginning of a fruitful relationship with the high school and the first of many collaborations between the two schools. Thanks to the parents who managed to come to the performance.

C Gen Voices – 23 May – Highfields Cultural Centre

On Tuesday 23rd May our Senior Choir (Yr 5 & 6) and our Intermediate Choir (Yr 3 & 4) will be performing at the Highfields Cultural Centre in ‘C Gen Voices’. This competition (previously called Choral Fanfare) has had a name change to C Gen Voices and is a regional choir competition with the Regional Final on June 5th.

Students have been working hard to prepare music for this event and I ask that parents and carers impress on students the importance of attending rehearsals leading up to this competition. With so many short weeks at the start of the term, it seems students have become ‘forgetful’. There are only a few rehearsals left, so please remind them to turn up – Intermediate Choir – Friday 8.00am and Senior Choir – Wednesday 8.00am.

Be on the lookout for permission notes as they will need to be signed and returned promptly. Thank you to all the parents and carers who organise and transport students to early rehearsals, it is worth the effort!
