Australian Nationals Athletics Champion - Lily Burns
 
Lily Burns recently returned to school after competing at the Australian Primary Schools Track and Field Championships, in Penguin, Tasmania.
 
Lily was originally selected to represent Queensland Primary Schools in the 12 year old girls 200m event, but just prior to the championships Lily was asked to compete in the 12 year old girls 100m event as well as the 4 x 100m relay, the 4 x 200m mixed relay and the 8 x 100m mixed relay.
 
Over 4 days Lily competed in 7 races with outstanding results as presented below.
 
Lily finished the championships as the 5th fastest 12 year old girl in Australia over 200m and the 7th fastest 12 year old girl over 100m. What wonderful results! What does the future hold for this young lady?
 
Lily has returned to school with a gold medal for her 4 x 100m relay and commemorative pennants for her 1st places in the 4 x 200m mixed relay and the 8 x 100m mixed relay 1st places.
 
Lily’s achievements will be recognised on the Queensland School Sport Representatives honour board and the Australian School Sport Champions honour board.
